Signed Sanji okina Hiroaki and sealed Shotei; publisher Watanabe Shozaburo. Title Shiro neko Tama (White Cat Tama). Depicting a cat reclining upon its paws, its snow-white coat subtly tinged with pink hues along the tail, carefully embossed to evoke the texture of its fur, with its head encircled by a red collar and distinguished by the deeply expressive gaze of the animal. SIZE of the sheet 26.9 x 36.8 cm Takahashi Hiroaki (1871-1945), also known as Shotei, was a prominent Japanese woodblock print artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He is best known for his landscape prints, particularly those featuring scenic views of Japan's countryside and urban scenes of Tokyo during the Taisho and Showa periods. Shotei's prints are characterized by their simple yet evocative style, with a focus on naturalistic details and atmospheric effects.
