KOZURU JUN'ICHI: AN AGANO WARE VASE By Kozuru Jun'ichi (1964-2024) Japan, 20th century The ribbed body raised on a short foot ring and rising to gently flaring sides, set with broad shoulders, and tapering to a narrow mouth, covered overall in a thick white glaze interspersed with turquoise streaks, stopping irregularly before the foot. HEIGHT 28 cm With a signed and inscribed wood tomobako (storage box). The top of the lid inscribed, Agano-yaki [Agano ware] and Kabin [Vase]; the underside signed Kozuru Jun with seal. Kozuru Jun'ichi (1964-2024) was a potter who produced Agano ware at Koshin-gama in Agano, Fukuchi City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
