A RARE BROWN-GLAZED RAKU WARE KOGO (INCENSE BOX AND COVER) Japan, 16th century, Momoyama period (1573-1615) Of rounded rectangular shape and roughly textured, coated in a dark brownish glaze, with small spots of vibrant reddish, orange and greenish hues. The mouth slightly rising, issuing a rough-edged rim to accommodate the cover.
