A FINE HIRADO BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN VASE WITH KIKU (CHRYSANTHEMUM) BLOSSOMS Japan, 19th century, late Edo (1615-1868) to Meiji period (1868-1912) The globular body supported on a short circular foot, rising to a tall slightly waisted neck with downturned petal-form lip, the body applied with finely carved kiku blossoms growing from leafy stems. The body painted in underglaze blue to depict an idyllic landscape shrouded in clouds and the neck flanked by two curled stems forming loops.
