A VERY LARGE AND IMPRESSIVE YOSHIDAYA KUTANI WARE ‘BLOSSOMING IRISES’ DISH Japan, 19th century, late Edo (1615-1868) to Meiji period (1868-1912) Of circular form, with shallow, gently rounded sides raised on a short foot. The interior finely carved and painted in vivid underglaze enamels in varying shades of yellow, green, blue, and aubergine, depicting blossoming irises against a ground densely decorated with small roundels. The exterior adorned with scrolling foliate sprays, while the underside bears the distinctive FUKU mark.
