† A BRONZE FOUR-PRONGED KOSHO (VAJRA), MUROMACHI PERIOD Japan, 15th-16th century, Muromachi period (1336-1573) Finely cast, the four-pronged vajra centered by two waisted double lotus petal bands encircling the shaft, the petals neatly incised with fine lines, and framed by beaded rims. Each prong issuing from a stylized beast marked by a short, curved beak and circular eyes. LENGTH 14.3 cm WEIGHT 212.5 g With a silk brocade pouch.
