A SUAKA TSUBA WITH DARUMA IN MEDITATION Unsigned Japan, 19th century, Edo period (1615-1868) Of kakumarugata form, with one kogai hitsu ana, the mimi slightly raised framing the ishimeji ground carved in katakiribori and shishiaibori with details inlaid in shibuichi, gold, and shakudo to depict daruma in a mediative pose to one side and a branch with plum blossoms to the reverse.
