Property of an Essex militaria collector. A 'blood chit' is a document carried by military personnel, addressed to civilians who may come across an armed-services member in difficulty (e.g. a shot-down pilot). It identifies the force to which the bearer belongs and displays a message requesting that the service member be rendered every assistance.
