Circa 15th-16th century AD. Narrow single-edged blade with integral bolster, flared scale-tang hilt with integral finial; punched 'crown' maker's mark to one face; brass finial with female bust to one face, capital 'S' to the other. Cf. Marquardt, K., Eight Centuries of European Knives, Forks and Spoons: an Art Collection, Europe, 1997, pp.28-32, for similar. 29.59 grams, 19 cm (7 1/2 in.).
