2nd-3rd century A.D. Comprising: two domed umbonate brooches with radiating fretwork design to accept enamel fill; silver coin of Septimius Severus. Cf. Seaby, H.A., Roman Silver Coins, Pertinax to Balbinus and Pupienus, London, 1982, p.21, n.58. 17.6 grams total, 17-33 mm (5/8 - 1 1/4 in.). [3, No Reserve] Found Lincolnshire, UK. This silver denarius belongs to Septimius Severus, probably the mint of Rome, AD 198. On the obverse: [L] SEPT [SEVERVS] PER AVG [P M IMP XI,] laureate head right.
