Tang dynasty, Ca. AD 618 - 907. A pair of terracotta figures, from left to right: a female dancer shown standing with the arms raised in a dance gesture, the head turned slightly, the hair arranged in a double topknot, and the long robe with a belted waist and folds falling to the feet; and a female attendant shown standing on an integral base, holding a water vessel in the right hand with the left hand raised towards the chest, the head modelled with a rounded face and tied hair, wearing a short bodice and a shawl draped around the arms above a long skirt falling to the ground, with the tips of the shoes shown below the hem.
