Han dynasty, Ca. 206 BC - AD 220. A collection of four terracotta birds, each with a hollow body, incised wings, and an upturned tail, with red pigment on the head. The group includes one long-necked waterfowl and three smaller birds with crests and fan-shaped tails, with dotted patterns on the plumage. Mounted on cast bronze legs with webbed feet. Size: 120-225mm x 150-195mm; Weight: 2.13kg Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong.
