Ca. 206 BC - AD 220. A terracotta figure of a soldier, depicted standing upright with the legs apart, the right arm bent at the elbow with the hand formed in a closed grip as if holding a weapon, and the left arm hanging straight at the side. The head is modelled with arched brows, narrow eyes, a straight mouth, and a Fu Manchu moustache. He wears a long tunic with a turned collar and a rectangular cuirass over the chest and back, with voluminous trousers above tall boots. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter. This piece has been precisely dated using a thermoluminescence analysis carried out by Ralf Kotalla. The report will accompany the lot.
