Ca. 2nd millennium BC. A stone anthropomorphic idol carved in the round as an upright figure with a long tapering body terminating in a pointed base, the short neck supporting a rounded head with recessed circular eyes and a slit mouth, the torso rendered as a compact block. The front is decorated with incised rings arranged in vertical rows, the reverse plain. Size: 125mm x 40mm; Weight: 70g Provenance: Property of an Oxfordshire art professional; previously in an old British collection, formed in the 1970s on the Canadian art market.
