A Large and Fine Gilt Bronze Figure of Manjusri

或十四世紀 尼泊爾 大型銅鎏金文殊菩薩像 Seated in dhyanasana atop a double-lotus base, the bodhisattva portrayed with the right arm raised wielding the flaming sword of prajna, the left hand held before the chest in vitarka mudra. The slender torso elegantly modeled, adorned with a multi-strand beaded necklace, armlets, bracelets, and anklets, all finely chased. The face cast with downcast eyes, gently arched brows, and a subtle smile, framed by pendulous earrings and a high chignon secured beneath an elaborate foliate tiara set with cabochon-like insets.The surface covered in a warm, lustrous gilding with areas of expected wear and rubbing, revealing the copper alloy beneath, and traces of colored inlay remaining in the crown and ornaments. The reverse neatly finished, with incised hair strands and a sash draped diagonally across the back. Likely Khasa Malla Kingdom (Circa 14th century), Nepal.
