漢 綠釉博山蓋神獸紋樽 The cylindrical body raised on three short feet and encircled with bands of molded mythical beasts, covered overall in a olive-green glaze thinning to amber tones at the edges. Surmounted by a domed ‘boshan’ cover finely worked in relief with swirling peaks and cloud scrolls, evoking the Isles of the Immortals, the interior unglazed, with areas of encrustation consistent with burial. Han Dynasty period. Height:9 1/2 in (24.1 cm)Width:7 1/2 in (19.1 cm) Provenance: 1. Kwok Gallery, Singapore 2.
