Ca. AD 650 - 850. A terracotta jar with a tall, cylindrical neck above a rounded body set on a low base with three short foot lugs. The shoulder is encircled by a stamped frieze of birds amid scrolling foliage, separated from a second stamped band around the lower body by a plain zone. Size: 155mm x 150mm; Weight: 380g Provenance: Property of a West London gentleman; previously in a collection formed on the UK/International art market in the 1980s.
