DAUNIAN TERRACOTTA BICHROME JUG WITH GEOMETRIC DECORATION

Ca. 550 - 400 BC. A terracotta bichrome jug with a squat globular body rising to a short cylindrical neck and a broad, flaring disc mouth. A single strap handle rises from the shoulder to the rim and continues as an upright, forked terminal with three perforations. The exterior is decorated in red and black on the buff ground with concentric bands at the mouth and neck, the shoulder with a dotted band and zones with blocks, and the body with broad bands.
