Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A carnelian amulet carved as a seated cat with an upright posture. The head has pointed ears and lightly incised facial features. The forelegs are held close together and extend to the flat base, while the hindquarters curve smoothly along the back. A suspension loop projects at the back. Size: 26mm x 13mm; Weight: 3.5g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Switzerland; formerly with C.B. collection, 1970s-1990s.
