Ca. 3000 BC. A stone anthropomorphic idol in columnar form, with an oval head. The schematic face has large recessed eyes, a prominent nose and a long, tapering beard rendered with incised strokes. The body is shaped as a flattened block and encircled by two bands of carved circular motifs. Size: 145mm x 25mm; Weight: 105g Provenance: Property of an Oxfordshire art professional; previously in an old British collection, formed in the 1970s on the Canadian art market.
