BACTRIAN SCHIST 'HANDBAG' WEIGHT WITH QUADRUPED

Ca. 2250 - 1750 BC. A schist 'handbag' weight with a rounded rectangular body surmounted by an integral flat handle. One face is carved in low relief with a horned quadruped shown in profile on a groundline, flanked by stylised trees. The reverse is a framed arrangement of geometric panels, centred on a rectangular field with a doorway, with flanking compartments of looped bands.
