Ca. 6000 - 5000 BC. A terracotta idol in a highly stylised human form, with a long neck and a schematic head above a broad torso with rounded lateral projections at shoulder and hip level. The surface is decorated with incised chevron bands, with a central field on the chest with short horizontal incisions. Size: 100mm x 45mm; Weight: 40g Provenance: Provenance: Property of a central London gallery; Ex collection of James Alfred Brew (1923 - 2008), collected in Cyprus during the 1960s. Thence by descent to Elaine Brew. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
