Ca. 1400 - 1000 BC. A bronze torso of Moschophoros, a calf-bearer. The oval face is framed by a flat cap, with thick chevron-incised braids falling over the nape. A broad ribbed collar encircles the neck. The arms bend before the chest to support a small calf, its forelegs draped over the forearms and the head turned to the left.Size: 94mm x 72mm; Weight: 460gProvenance: Private London collection; previously in a 1990s UK Ancient art collection.This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
