A collection of belt fittings, including, from left to right: a copper-alloy buckle with an oval loop and hinged tongue, attached to a small plate with a heart-shaped cell holding a red inset; a rectangular buckle plate with raised attachment lugs, the face arranged with cloisonn? cells holding red insets in a geometric pattern; and a larger rectangular buckle plate with the field set with a central circular cell holding a pale green cabochon, flanked by paired green lobed motifs and framed by red and blue geometric cloisonn? cells. Size: 27-36mm x 20-28mm; Weight: 46g Provenance: Private London collection; previously part of a distinguished New York private collection, assembled between 1975 and 1995. The collection was authenticated in the early 1990s by Dr. Jack Ogden and Barbara Deppert Lippitz, leading specialists in ancient jewellery. A significant number of objects from this collection were also published in a professional catalogue.
