Ca. AD 500 - 700. A silver pendant depicting the head of Odin as a stylised mask in relief, on a rounded, flat plaque with a pinched top, perforated for suspension. The eyes are pierced beneath arched brows, above a triangular nose and a narrow mouth. The face and surrounding field are decorated with pellets arranged in curving lines, with a rosette at the apex. The reverse is plain and convex. Size: 32.4mm x 26.1mm; Weight: 6.77g Provenance: Private London collection; formerly in Austrian private collection 1980s-early1990s.
