Ca. AD 300 - 600. A cobalt blue oval intaglio engraved with a line of script, set in a silver ring with a high oval collet framed by a narrow rim and flanked at the quarters by small cusped bosses. The stepped bezel is decorated with chased arabesques continuing onto the broad shoulders, which are formed with scrolling terminals.
