Ca. AD 100 - 300. A silver-gilt openwork brooch formed as a symmetrical plate of scrolling leaf motifs springing from a central scroll and expanding to opposed terminals. A hinge and catchplate on the reverse. Size: 39mm x 32mm; Weight: 9g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Switzerland; formerly with C.B. collection, 1970s-1990s.
