Ca. AD 1920 - 1936. A George V 1897 Pattern infantry officer's sword. The blade is etched with the monikor Royal Corps of Signals and with the Corps' Mercury insignia. No significant loss to shagreen aside from general wear and handle fittings have no looseness. Some pitting to blade and rust to hilt. Included is a leather scabbard and later leather frog. Size: 945mm x 125mm; Weight: 1.2kg Provenance: From the private collection of an Essex gentleman; previously in an old British Collection, formed in the 1980s.
