Ca. AD 1300 - 1400. A sgraffito ware bowl with a tapering body on a low foot. The interior is decorated with a central four-pointed star or flower head, the intervening triangular fields filled with stylised vegetal motifs. Size: 80mm x 165mm; Weight: 395g Provenance: Provenance: Property of a central London gallery; Ex collection of James Alfred Brew (1923 - 2008), collected in Cyprus during the 1960s. Thence by descent to Elaine Brew. Discovered in Elea. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
