Ca. 336 - 280 BC. A silver drachm of Alexander the Great, the obverse with the head of Herakles facing right, wearing the Nemean lion skin, the paws tied at the neck. The reverse shows Zeus enthroned left, holding an eagle in the extended right hand and a sceptre in the left. Set in a modern silver-gilt 18kt gold pendant mount formed as a plain circular frame secured by four wedge-shaped tabs, fitted with a tapered suspension bail and a small ring.
