Ca. 500 - 300 BC. A gold sheet repouss? appliqu? of irregular rectangular outline, modelled with two seated lions in profile facing one another, each with open jaws and a striated mane. The tails curl upward at either side. The lower edge is pierced with three holes fitted with wire links, each suspending a drop-shaped pendant. The reverse plain. Size: 33mm x 24mm; Weight: 1.4g Provenance: Private London collection; previously in a South-German private collection formed on the European art market in the 1980s and 1990s.
