STUNNING ETRUSCAN BRONZE BELL WITH DRAGON HEAD

Ca. 600 - 400 BC. A bronze bell with an openwork ovoid body tapering to a short tubular terminal with a side loop. The upper section is cast as a dragon head with an open mouth, the neck encircled by a moulded double collar. Size: 175mm x 75mm; Weight: 435g Provenance: Property of an Oxfordshire art professional; previously in an old British collection, formed in the 1970s on the Canadian art market. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
