Ca. 500 - 300 BC. A mould-made terracotta votive head of a youthful female with a broad oval face, the eyes half-lidded beneath arched brows, with a straight nose and closed mouth. The hair is modelled as a tight mass of curls framing the forehead and temples, beneath a smooth rounded veil. For similar see: National Museums Liverpool, Accession number M12913. Size: 230mm x 180mm; Weight: 2.1kg Provenance: From a private London collection; previously acquired in Paris, France; originally part of a private French collection based in Montpellier, assembled between the 1970s and 1990s.
