Third Intermediate Period to Roman Period, Ca. 1069 - 30 BC. A collection of seven scarabs, including, from left to right: a large faience scaraboid with a flat base engraved with a stylised bird; a scaraboid in banded red and brown stone; a scaraboid in pale greenish-white stone with light veining; a turquoise-blue glass scarab with incised wing cases; a red carnelian scarab with drilled perforation; a blue scarab with detailed upper body; and a pale yellow scaraboid with a plain underside. Size: 11-20mm x 8-15mm; Weight: 13g Provenance: Private Belgium Collection; ex Private English Collection, previously acquired on European market in 1960s.
