Ca. 450 - 400 BC. A red-figure skyphos with a tapering body, twin handles, and a low moulded foot. Each side is decorated with a single owl with large circular eyes and linear wing markings, framed by laurel branches that rise alongside the handles and separate the two panels. Size: 145mm x 70mm; Weight: 125g Provenance: Private London collection; previously acquired on the Belgian art market; originally in the collection of P V Der Elst, Liege, 1980s.
