Ca. AD 700 - 900. An iron longsword with a straight blade tapering to a point. The hilt has a short, straight crossguard and a narrow, flat tang, terminating in a substantial lobed pommel. Size: 890mm x 125mm; Weight: 1.15kg Provenance: Private London collection; previously acquired in Austria in the early 2000s; formerly in 1990s Austrian collection of Peter Ing Till.
