Ca. AD 1000 - 1200. A matched pair of silver-gilt earrings, each suspended from a hook with an upper element threaded with pearls and flanked by short pendant drops. Below hangs an openwork pendant of near-spherical form with three scroll arms attached at the sides, formed of twisted wire with petal-shaped compartments with blue and green inlays. The pendant terminates in a petalled foot, with three pearl tassels suspended from looped attachments on the lower body. Size: 53-57mm x 21-23mm; Weight: 13g Provenance: Private UK collection; From an old Austrian collection formed in the 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
