Ca. AD 900 - 1100. A gold hammer-shaped pendant with a tall, tapered shaft and a suspension loop above a broad, crescent-shaped head. Both faces are stamped with an irregular arrangement of triangular punches filled with pellets across the hammer face and along the upper stem. Size: 23.3mm x 17.8mm; Weight: 6.4g Provenance: Private London collection; previously in a German collection formed before the 2000's. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
