Ca. 500 - 400 BC. A marble head of Aphrodite, carved with an oval face turned slightly to one side. The eyes are almond-shaped beneath gently arched brows, with a straight nose above a short mouth and rounded chin. The hair is parted at the crown and arranged in thick locks framing the temples, with the mass gathered to the rear in undulating strands. Mounted.
