Ca. AD 1 - 300. A marble head carved as a youthful Nubian male, with a broad forehead, almond-shaped eyes beneath heavy lids, a short, flattened nose, and full lips above a tapering chin. The hair is rendered as a mass of curls arranged in irregular rows. Size: 200mm x 170mm; Weight: 7.6kg Provenance: Private UK collection; from an old British collection formed in the 1990s.
