Ca. AD 1000 - 1200. A silver enkolpion formed as a hinged cross with a suspension loop, the obverse engraved with the Panagia in orant pose with a nimbus, flanked on the arms by busts of Saint Peter and Saint John with their names in Greek. The reverse is engraved with a nimbed standing saint wearing a long robe with linear and geometric ornament. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 2000.526.2.
