Ca. AD 500 - 700. A gold cross pendant with four hollow cylindrical arms, slightly flaring towards concave terminals, each with a pellet, projecting from a short central tube. The obverse of the tube centred on a circular cell set with a garnet cabochon within a beaded frame, with two small granules extending onto each arm. The upper arm is fitted with a suspension loop, decorated with granules arranged in a triangular group. For similar see: Christie's, Live Auction 2491, Ancient Jewelry, Lot 450.
