RARE BOEOTIAN HELMET

Ca. 200 - 100 BC. A bronze Boeotian helmet with a tall conical crown rising to a finial formed as a tapering spike above a moulded collar, the bowl drawn down to a broad flaring brim. Hinged cheekpieces are suspended from the interior at either side, and the fastening system is retained with a strap and buckle beneath. Restored.
