STUNNING SCYTHIAN BRONZE HELMET WITH GEOMETRIC FRIEZE

Ca. 500 - 300 BC. An Archaic Scythian composite helmet, 7th?6th century BCE. The dome of the helmet is adorned with a cast griffin protome. The surface of the helmet is further decorated with engraved representations of griffin heads executed in the Scythian Animal Style. For similar see: J. G. De Soto, S.
