Ca. 330 - 300 BC. A red-figure pottery patera attributed to the circle of Baltimore Painter. The large bowl is shallow with a flattened rim and stands on a low ring foot. The interior is decorated with a winged Nike in profile, wearing a sakkos and an elaborate coiffure, offering a mirror to a woman seated atop a pile of rocks and holding a palmette-shaped fan. Nike holds a tympanon (hand drum) in her left hand. The scene is encircled by a band of wave motifs and a surrounding laurel border, highlighted with added white and yellow pigment.
