Ca. 350 BC. A red-figure bell krater with a broad overhanging rim, a deep body tapering to a short stem, a spreading foot, and a pair of handles with curled terminals. The rim is decorated beneath with a band of laurel leaves, and the lower body with a running wave band. Side A shows a youthful Dionysus standing, nude with a cloak draped over the arms, holding a wreath, with a small altar at his side and suspended ornaments in the field, the scene framed by tall scrolling foliate motifs. Side B shows a draped woman standing beside an altar, with similar field ornaments and flanking scrolls. For similar see: Sotheby's, Antiquities, 7 June 2012, Lot 18.
