Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A stone head of a pharaoh, carved in the round with a tapering face beneath a nemes headdress, with the remains of an uraeus at the centre. The brows are modelled as a continuous ridge over heavy-lidded almond eyes. The nose projects above a small mouth and a rounded chin. The headcloth is tucked behind the pronounced ears, framing the cheeks at the sides, and the reverse is flattened. Size: 85mm x 85mm; Weight: 430g Provenance: Private UK collection; from an old British collection formed in the 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
