'Swale'. 2007. Oil on canvas. Verso: Signed, titled, dated and inscribed on the stretcher bar in marker. Note: Swale was an American thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes in 1984. He died eight days after his win in the latter race. The jockey depicted is Laffit Pincay, Jr, (b. 1946) who rode Swale to his victories and is depicted wearing the colors of the horse's owner Claiborne Farm. Property to benefit a Bronxville Charity.
