EGYPTIAN BRONZE OXYRHYNCHUS FISH AMULET

Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A bronze amulet cast in the form of an oxyrhynchus fish, set on a long flat base strip, the head tapering to a pointed snout and the body with a raised dorsal fin and a forked tail. The fish wears the Hathoric crown, with a frontal uraeus surmounted by a solar disc between cow's horns. A small suspension loop behind the crown.
