Bamboo Carvings from the Wumingtang Collection Signed Yunqiao Shanren zhen, with an accompanying poem dated Qianlong xinchou year Height 12.3 cm, 4⅞ in. Deng Wei, known by the moniker Yunqiao Shanren ('Recluse of the Cloud Bridge') was a native of Jiading and son of the famous carver Deng Fujia. At the forefront of the Qianlong era 'Jinling School,' Deng is particularly known for his low-relief carving in cursive script and scholars objects.
